Mattimeo! The Tale of Danger and Sacrifice!

Mattimeo is the third book of the RedWall Series! Mattimeo is about Matthias's son.

 Mattimeo is stolen by an evil slave trader who wants revenge for Matthias. Slagar the Cruel has taken some of the RedWall infants, Mattimeo, Tim and Tess Church mouse, Sam Squirrel, Cynthia Bankvole, and they meet a young badger named Auma and a hedgehog named Jube. While the friends try to survive going to the south, the RedWall Mice are a wreak. Matthias, Basil, Cheek, Jess Squirrel and the shrews of Guosim take change and race to rescue the infants. They journey a long way while at RedWall the Abbot, Ambrose Spike, Winifred Otter, Constance the Badger and Foremole and his team  have to solve riddles and quests to find where Jess, Basil and Matthias went to. Matthias faces nearly death, traps, enemies and Mattimo faces hatred, fear, danger and escaping the evil slave traders. As the long and perilous journey happens as both rescue and slavers are heading south to the evil kingdom. It takes all the help they need but Matthias and RedWall both get back the infants. There is a battle between MossFlower's Champion and the evil kingdom's champion, the two cause a battle and Matthias rescues the slaves and escape while the infants are freed and the battle that is raging on above all at once.

I really like this book because it is all about trickery, thinking things through, danger, escape, traps and more! It tells a tale of evil being defeated by RedWall, RedWall Abbey always has a danger happening every few seasons. It has funny languages of different types, for example, Foremole and his team speak like some country language like this, "Aye, missus. Oi dug it meself." and the sparrows speak like this "Queen see you in trouble with rat-worms. She say help um friend Matthias."

MossFlower! A Caring and Crazy Tale of MossFlower Woods!

MossFlower is the second book of the Redwall series by Brian Jacques! It is about a young traveler named Martin the Warrior passing by the realm of future Queen Tsarmia, Tsarmia, an evil wildcat who poisons her father, becomes Queen of MossFlower, and takes Martin as a prisoner. When Gonff, is captured by Tsarmia, he has the council of Corim rescue him and Martin. As Tsarmia gets even more angry, Martin, Gonff and a mole called Young Dinny go on a quest to Salmandastron to find Bella of Brockhall's father, Boar the fighter. As the triad go on this epic quest the Corim and LoamHedge Mice must fight and survive the mad Queen Tsarmia. Martin and friends have help, dangers and other obstacles on the way through their journey. Both sides have adventures, secrets, ambushes, plans, and more to survive the harshness of the Mad Queen or survive the anger in the quiet peaceful fighters of MossFlower.

This book does very well describing the scenes on the pages of MossFlower and the journey to Salmandastron. The only thing that would make it better is the journey to Salmandastron! I thought there would be more friends than foes but it had both, (that is not the main thing at this point). I would like to have read more about fast winding rivers, sea rats, crabs and sinking sand. Even so, there is a lot of excitement in this adventurous book!

Redwall, the book! Adventurous and Brilliant Action!!!!!

This review is about the book Redwall.  This book is by Brian Jaques and is published by Penguin Publishing Group. This book is about a war of good against evil and a quest to help one side of the war. This book has different view points of the war.  We learn about each side and about a mouse, Matthias, who is on a quest.

So, Redwall is about an evil rat trying to take over the MossFlower Abbey. But heroes are made and villains are lost.... A young mouse takes on a dangerous quest to defeat an evil sea rat called Cluny the Scourge, this epic tale makes new heroes, friends, dangers, and peace. As the mini war rages on Cluny is defeated, but wait, Matthias, a young mouse takes on an epic quest with his sparrow friend, Warbeak, to retrieve the sword of Martin the Warrior. He must solve the riddles and secrets of the Abbey and discover a crazy king and a friend on this journey at home.

In my opinion, this story teaches a lesson to shine bright even when evil is near. It is an adventurous tale and relies on friend or foe. It is a five star book for me and I want to say thank you to the author, Brian Jaques, for an amazing tale! This is also a series of 13 books.  Some of the books take place in different times such as going back to the past, or jumping forward to events that have not happened yet to explains tales for different characters.

My Favorite character is Basil the Stag, A really funny rabbit. He always says he has "War Injuries" and needs a lot of food. (A VERY hungry rabbit) If Basil is on a quest or journey he is the master of camouflage, trickery and more! I hope he is your favorite character and he makes me smile at his jokes and war injuries!

My name is Annabel, I love reading all types of books! So I wanted everybody to know about my favorite books and authors. I really like reading fantasy and adventure like Percy Jackson and more by tons of authors and illustrators. Some of my favorite books and series are Septimius Heap, Percy Jackson, Magnus Chase, TodHunter Moon, The Redwall Series, Harry Potter, Dork Diaries and tons more!!!! I could say I am a bookworm cause I read too much. I have been in first place at my school's Accelerated Reading goal with 496.9 points! I have also been 5th place at the countywide poetry contest. I will keep giving you guys my opinions, ideas and book suggestions this summer so stay tuned for more!!!!
